When I see many health and fitness enthusiasts promoting their business on social media, I immediately look to see if they have a blog. Some do. Many don’t. And I always wonder if the one’s who don’t realize the money they are giving up by not bringing the traffic they are generating to a blog.
If I’m not mistaken, the simple answer to this is that they just don’t know the benefits of blogging. You can read my blog post 5 Ways to Make Money With A Health & Fitness Blog here.
Simply put, blogging is a great way to bring traffic to you, build your email list, share your expertise and build loyalty, earn income from affiliate marketing, earn income from sponsored posts, earn income on displayed ads AND earn income from your own products, services you’ve created or your direct sales company has provided for you.
Posting on social media is not as effective as sharing a blog post. Here’s why:
- When you post on social media, YES, you get likes, comments and maybe some sales. But it lasts for a short period of time and you have to post again, and again, and again. BUT, if you share a blog post, it can be seen for YEARS and years and years bringing you traffic continually.
- You can’t monetize a social media post like you can a blog post. Yes, you can include an affiliate link on a social media post (but, again, it fades away after about a day or so). But a blog post can be monetized with affiliate links, displayed ads, sponsored posts and more for an endless amount of time.
